We are seeking an energetic and passionate Computer Science Teacher for grades 6 through 8 to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curricula, inspire young learners, and cultivate their interest in computer science and related STEM fields. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to student success. This position also encompasses part-time tech support for student and staff computers.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive computer science lessons aligned with grade-level standards and curriculum goals
- Incorporate innovative learning technologies and instructional design strategies to enhance student engagement
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and respect among students
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
- Proven classroom experience working with middle school students in grades 6–8
- Strong knowledge of computer science concepts
- Familiarity with educational standards in STEM subjects and experience integrating learning technology tools
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, parent engagement, and team collaboration
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment design
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a motivating learning environment
