Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of commercial tractor-trailers across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking manual transmissions and specialized equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance in compliance with federal regulations.
- Route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road.
- Assist with loading or unloading freight as needed for various types of cargo.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Demonstrated ability to drive manual transmission trucks confidently and safely.
- Knowledge of load securement techniques for freight such as freight pallets or bundles of posts.
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment like forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading cargo.
