Construction Inspector Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our growing inspection team, preferably with NJ experience.
Responsibilities
- Inspect roadway, bridge, railroad, and/or facility construction to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Observe and document construction activities, materials, quantities, and test results
- Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project records
- Monitor traffic control, work zone safety, and erosion/sediment controls to ensure compliance with approved plans
- Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues
Requirements
- NICET Level III (Highway Construction or equivalent) OR minimum 4 years of construction inspection experience in roadway and/or bridge projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to project sites
Preferred/Plus Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or intent to pursue licensure
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification
- Rutgers Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) Certification
- OSHA 10/30 certification in Construction
- New Jersey Society of Asphalt Technologists (NJSAT) certification
- Experience with scheduling software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
