What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health/ Psych Registered Nurse (RN) position at Malibu Wellness Ranch?
Situated on 800 acres in the scenic Pocono Mountains, Malibu Wellness Ranch offers an experiential, substance abuse disorder and addiction treatment opportunity for men and women in a serene and secluded campus environment.
3x12 hour shifts
NIGHTS
Every other weekend
Holidays on an as needed basis
What You'll Do
- Assess & Support: Conduct thorough mental and physical assessments, identifying needs and creating personalized care plans.
- Lead Recovery: Administer and manage medications, educate patients and families, and track progress in a collaborative, trauma-informed way.
- Guide & Empower: Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic support during acute moments of need.
- Collaborate & Coordinate: Work closely with our interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers to ensure holistic care.
- Create Safety & Structure: Maintain a positive, therapeutic environment that promotes trust, dignity, and healing.
- Float between 2 facilities
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Strong assessment and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Experience in patient education and advocacy
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is a plus
- MUST have experience with NARCAN
