Qualifications (Required):
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the respective content area of Special Education.
- Wilson Reading Certification.
- Successful teaching experience.
- Experience modifying and differentiating curriculum for students on IEP’s.
- Ability to relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and
administrators.
- Teachers must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
- ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
- License in Special Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in two staff development meetings.
- Collaborate with the Program Managers and Program Coordinator to plan and implement
schedules for related services on an IEP.
- Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records.
- Keep folders/portfolios with student work.
- Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator.
- Develop Progress Reports at the end of the ESY Program.
Duration:
Program Administration and Implementation 96 hours total to include the following:
Professional In-service Days June 28 - 29 (3 hours each day).
18 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 5 – August 3 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).
Please note the first week of the program will run Wednesday and Thursday ONLY
(7/5-7/6).
Stipend: $37 an hour, $3,552 total
