What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daily Substitute - Malden High School [SY26-27] position at Malden Public Schools?

Malden High School, established in 1857, is a vibrant and inclusive learning community. The school currently serves nearly 1,800 students in grades 9-12 and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Ranked by Niche as the most diverse high school in Massachusetts, MHS proudly reflects the strengths of its multicultural population; this year students represent more than 55 countries and speak over 40 languages. Responsibilities:
- Follows the teacher’s written lesson plans.
- Consults with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns.
- Complies with all building procedures and schedules.
- Prepares a written summary of work completed.
- Makes the absent teacher aware of special situations or problems encountered.
- Implements effective pupil management procedures.
- Maintains a positive learning environment.
- Follows all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
Daily building Building Substitute Teachers and all Per Diem Substitute Teachers are non-benefits eligible. There are a minumim of two daily Building Substitute Teachers that will be hired and expected to report to work each day. In addition, Per Diem Substitute Teachers are encouraged to apply as well.
Reports to: Building Principal
Salary:
$135/Day - Retired Teacher w/ DESE Certification
$125/Day – DESE Teaching Certification
$100/Day – No Certification
