Reports To: Technical Manager
Summary: The individual is responsible for managing product regulatory compliance throughout the product life cycle. This includes SDS compliance, shipping marking and naming for DOT, product labeling compliance, monitoring on-going regulatory changes, and working cross-functionally to maintain compliance with domestic and international regulations.
Specific Duties: Specific duties are intended to describe activities that support the summary above. The list is not all inclusive – other duties may be required to cover the breadth and depth of the position.
- To understand and follow Malco’s Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
- To access and follow procedures and work instructions which are applicable to the job function.
- Create, review, and maintain SDS, California ingredient disclosure documents and product labels.
- Review TDS in conjunction with Marketing for regulatory compliance.
- DOT – Manage product hazards associated to transportation and classification.
- Manage product compliance with domestic and international laws.
- Ensure product labeling, packaging, and marketing materials meet legal requirements.
- Monitor changes in regulations and communicate the impacts to internal teams.
- Maintain regulatory files and documentation for audits and inspections.
- Support new product launches.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing and Transportation.
- Respond to regulatory inquiries.
- Participate in the internal audit program.
- Assist in other Quality activities as needed including Quality Initiative Teams (QIT)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field.
Experience/Qualifications:
- 4 or more years of related experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience with REACH, OSHA, DOT, and consumer label compliance.
- Experience with 3E Generate software preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations.
- Familiarity with global requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Problem solving and analytical thinking.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- May involve cross-functional teamwork, interaction with regulatory agencies, and time on the production floor.
Salary : $55,000 - $75,000
