Summary
Mālamalama Waldorf School is seeking warm, dependable Title I Math and Reading Tutors to support students through individualized and small group instruction. Tutors work within a Waldorf-inspired approach that integrates movement, rhythm, and creativity into academic support.
Duties
Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide small group and one-on-one instruction in reading and/or mathematics
- Reinforce foundational skills through practice, repetition, and encouragement
- Incorporate elements such as movement, rhythm, storytelling, and artistic engagement when appropriate
- Support students’ academic growth while fostering confidence and engagement
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration
- Observe and respond to individual student needs with flexibility and care
- Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Track student progress and participation
- Follow all Title I requirements set by the State of Hawaiʻi and FACTS Educational Services
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, consistent, and able to maintain a steady presence with students
Nice To Haves

- Familiarity with Waldorf education or holistic, child-centered approaches
- Experience supporting students in reading and/or math
