The Senior Supermarket Refrigeration Installer is responsible for leading field installation crews and ensuring efficient, profitable, and technically accurate installation of supermarket refrigeration systems. This includes overseeing rack installations, case lineups, piping, brazing, electrical hookups, startups, punch lists, and collaboration with GCs and subcontractors.This role also provides mentorship to junior installers and acts as a key technical resource in the field.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead the installation of supermarket refrigeration systems, including:Rack systems (traditional & CO/Transcritical)Walk-in coolers/freezersDisplay cases & case lineupsSuction/liquid piping, brazing, and pressure testingLine sets, condensers, controls, and EMS hookupsCoordinate full project execution:Material procurementPermits & inspectionsJob schedulingManpower forecastingEnsure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, supermarket requirements, and local codes.Oversee project profitability, job tracking, and reporting.Resolve technical issues quickly and effectively on-site.Maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, and subcontractors.Train, coach, and mentor apprentices, journeymen, and installation techs.Enforce safety standards, PPE compliance, and proper refrigeration installation practices.Conduct system pressure tests, evacuation, leak checks, and assist with startups as required.Ensure proper documentation, including timekeeping, project logs, and safety reports.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation / TrainingHigh school diploma, GED, or trade/technical school requiredCollege degree is a plusEPA 608 Certification strongly preferredCO/Transcritical training a plusExperience / Skills5 years hands-on supermarket refrigeration installation experienceStrong knowledge of:Supermarket rack systemsParallel racks & CO systemsWalk-in and display case installationPiping, brazing, and refrigeration electrical2 years in a Lead Installer, Foreman, or Supervisory roleAbility to read blueprints, case schedules, and refrigeration plansExperience coordinating with GCs and subcontractorsStrong leadership, communication, and customer-facing skillsSolid understanding of jobsite safety and OSHA requirementsProficiency with basic business tools (Email, Excel, ERP/Dispatch systems)Valid drivers license with good driving recordPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentWork EnvironmentWork is performed on active construction sites, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and supermarket environments.
