Position Title: IT Project Lead

Position Summary: The IT Project Lead will be at the forefront of architecting and enhancing enterprise field systems, driving innovation and transformation within the Application Services organization. This position will be responsible for supporting the management and coordination of project execution, ensuring operational support, and driving strategic improvements across a portfolio of applications. Reporting to the IT Development Manager, the IT Project Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions that align with the organization's objectives.

The Project Lead will oversee key areas such as project management, new interface implementations, continuous process improvement, meeting the needs of 15,000 to 20,000 users across 6 countries, and application support while ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the applications in the portfolio. The role will need to be able to effectively communicate to end users, corporate functions and partners, and technology leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Feature Development
    • Lead the design and development of new features, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Engage with 3rd party systems and IT partners to design and architect new interfaces.
    • Identify, evaluate, and introduce emerging technologies to enhance system performance and capabilities.
    • Play an integral part in technical decision making on frameworks, technologies, and infrastructure.
  2. Project Management
    • Support the execution of projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-value delivery.
    • Coordinate with business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, risk assessments, and status reports.
    • Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations to meet business needs.
    • Ensure adherence to project management best practices and organizational methodologies.
    • Perform code promotions across multiple applications and databases.
  3. Business Engagement and Communication
    • Act as a liaison between IT, business units, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment of technology solutions with business goals.
    • Provide clear and concise communication on project and application status to business stakeholders.
    • Facilitate requirements gathering and translate business needs into technical specifications.
  4. Continuous Improvement and Strategy
    • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in application management.
    • Support the IT Development Manager in developing long-term application roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
  5. Team Coordination and Leadership
    • Provide guidance and support to junior team members or contractors working on projects.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development.
    • Ensure adherence to IT governance, compliance, and security policies.
  6. Application Support and Operations
    • Assist in maintaining stable, reliable, and secure application services.
    • Collaborate with support teams to resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
    • Monitor application performance, execute preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain operational documentation, including runbooks and disaster recovery plans.
    • Management of any applicable contract or license agreements and participation in audit reviews as necessary for both applications and/or the tools used to support those applications.
    • Execute preventative maintenance, including predictive analysis and testing to ensure application uptime.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as an IT project lead, preferably in a corporate IT setting.
  • 5 years' experience in the development of Microsoft development technologies, principally .Net Core solutions using C#.
  • 5 years' experience with SQL Server and Oracle DBs; must be familiar with programming and performance concepts.
  • 5 years experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Demonstrated skills on managing Azure DevOps; configuration, work items, repositories, pipelines, and releases.
  • Experienced in common Networking and Security Concepts in the support of Web Applications
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise applications, system integrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and incident management.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in a corporate IT environment supporting multiple business functions.
  • Demonstrated accounting and/or finance acumen is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the hospitality, food and facilities industries is a plus.

Education:

  • The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, ideally with a concentration in IT or related discipline


Travel:

  • Approximately 5 - 10%
  • ideal candidate would be in office 2 days a week

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to the IT Development Manager within the Application Services organization.
