Prep/Line Cook at Makse Restaurant

Position: Prep/Line Cook

Location: Downtown Vacaville, CA (Makse, pronounced Moxie)

Pay: $18–$20/hour, based on experience

Hours: Part-time, 16–24 hours/week, primarily Friday–Sunday brunch shifts

Ideal Candidate: Self-driven, reliable, hard-working, great work ethic

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations
• Prep ingredients for shifts
• Cook steakhouse dishes like beef Wellington, chicken cordon bleu, seafood, pasta, and brunch staples to high standards
• Master egg dishes for brunch
• Follow health and safety guidelines
• Bonus: Prepare flambé desserts tableside

Qualifications:

• Proven cook experience
• Valid California Food Handler Card (required)
• Food Safety Manager Certification (strongly preferred, boosts advancement)
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective communication, English required, Spanish a plus
• Bonus: Skills in Mexican, Greek, Turkish, or Italian cuisine
• Proven reliability key for growth to sous chef
