Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced SAP FI/CO Business Analyst to join their IT Enterprise Systems Group. This role will serve as an internal consultant, partnering with regional affiliates to maximize the effective use of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. The position requires a strong foundation in finance and accounting processes, deep configuration expertise, and the ability to bridge the gap between business users and technical teams.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on SAP FI/CO experience, prior exposure to Product Costing, and the ability to support both day-to-day operations and long-term system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary internal consultant for SAP FI/CO, supporting affiliates across financial and controlling functions.
- Analyze and document business requirements; translate them into system solutions and enhancements.
- Configure and customize SAP FI/CO modules, with emphasis on FI, CO, and Profitability Analysis (PA).
- Support Product Costing processes within SAP.
- Conduct testing (Unit, UAT, Regression), validate system changes, and ensure smooth rollouts of new functionality.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing production support for FI/CO-related problems.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation for configurations, business processes, and user guides.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, PMO, Internal Audit, and other SAP modules) to ensure successful implementations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in SAP FI/CO (FI, CO, PA) modules with hands-on configuration experience.
- Prior experience with Product Costing in SAP.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and controlling processes.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to create and maintain system documentation and user guides.
- SAP certification in FI/CO preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of SAP FI/CO experience (ECC and/or S/4HANA).
- Experience as a key contributor on at least one full implementation cycle.
- Background in enterprise application implementations and maintenance cycles; agile methodology experience a plus.
- Ability to perform basic debugging and support technical teams.
- Hands-on experience creating test cases and executing end-to-end testing.
- Strong facilitation skills-able to run workshops, drive decisions, and clarify requirements.
- Outcome-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing deadlines.
