What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Apprentice Helper /Shipyard position at MAKO OILFIELD SERVICES LLC?
Mako Industries is currently hiring Electrical Helpers and/or Apprentice Electricians for a project in Pascagoula, MS.
Position Details:
- Work will be performed in a shipyard environment
- Schedule will be 5–7 days per week
- Workdays will typically be 8–12 hours per day
- Hours and schedule may vary depending on production needs
- Candidates must be flexible, dependable, and willing to work extended hours
- Must be comfortable working in a shipboard/industrial environment
- Electrical Helpers and Apprentice Electricians are encouraged to apply
- Must be able to start immediately
Responsibilities
- Assist electricians with general electrical work and job-site tasks
- Band/Bend and groom electrical conduit and materials
- Band/Bend: Shape conduit or electrical raceway to the required angles and dimensions so it can be properly installed around structures, equipment, and other obstacles.
- Groom: Help clean up, align, organize, and properly position conduit runs so the finished installation is neat, properly supported, and professionally installed.
- Help prepare, organize, and move materials and tools
- Assist with electrical installations as directed by the lead electrician
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
- Work effectively as part of an electrical crew
Qualifications
- Previous electrical, construction, industrial, or shipyard experience is a plus
- Apprentice electricians are welcome to apply
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Reliable and dependable
- Able to work long hours and a variable schedule
- Comfortable working aboard a ship and in an industrial environment
- Must be able to start immediately
Compensation
Hourly Rate Per Diem
Exact hourly rate and per diem will be discussed during the screening/interview process.
