Our work is characterized by the application of agile and scrum methodologies. Who said that People & Culture can't work this way? It is part of our culture, together with learning from each other every day, having a good time at work, and adding a spark and fun touch, both inside and outside of the office.

You will be the cornerstone of our People & Culture strategy in North America. Based in our Chicago office and reporting directly to the Global People & Culture Area Manager, you will act as a strategic partner to the business while ensuring operational excellence.

🎯 What we’d like you to do

  • Own the full-cycle recruitment process for all US positions (Chicago, NY, Miami, etc.). You will define profiles, source top digital talent, and manage the end-to-end candidate experience.
  • Lead the monthly payroll cycle for all US employees, ensuring accuracy in tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and multi-state compliance. You will also draft, update, and manage all employment contracts and offer letters in alignment with local regulations.
  • Serve as the guardian of Making Science’s culture in the US. You will implement engagement initiatives that align our global values with the local American workplace.
  • Partner with the Global L&D team to identify skill gaps, coordinate training programs (tech & soft skills), and support career pathing for US employees.
  • Maintain and update our People systems (SAP SuccessFactors, IA tools, etc.) to ensure US data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for US labor law queries (FLSA, FMLA, state-specific regulations). You will ensure all policies are up to date and mitigate legal risks.
  • Oversee the organizational needs of the Chicago office, ensuring a productive, high-standard physical environment for the team.

🔊 What we’d like you to bring

  • At least 5 years in HR/People Ops, with at least 2-3 years as an HRBP in a fast-paced tech, digital agency, or consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal and state labor laws (specifically Illinois/Chicago).
  • High proficiency in HRIS (SuccessFactors preferred) and payroll platforms (ADP).
