What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at MaKi Sushi Bar & Bistro?
Seeking friendly and energetic server(s) for busy multi-floor downtown restaurant. Minimum of one year server experience required.
Full and part time hours available, must be able to work weekends.
Duties
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive
- Memorize and explain daily specials
- Take accurate food, beverage and bar orders .
- Present and open bottles of wine
- Provide recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience.
- Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring that all orders are delivered accurately.
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area throughout service.
- Deliver food to tables regardless of location or server.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders and address any special requests from guests.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to any concerns or requests during their meal.
- Accurately take payments and make change with funds from your personal bank.
- Keep the restaurant clean and compliant with safety regulations
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must have excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly and positive attitude.
- Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work weekends and dinner shifts.
- Previous serving experience is required.
*Familiarity with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus.
