About the Role
Hero Machine Co. builds equipment for metal fabricators — CNC fiber lasers, press brakes, tube lasers, and more. We’re looking for a Field Service Technician who’s equal parts mechanic, electrician, and communicator. This person will travel across the U.S. to install our machines, train customers, and provide ongoing support. When not on the road, you’ll be our front-line phone support helping shops keep their machines running strong.
All training will happen at our Springfield, TN headquarters, which is also your home base.
This is not a one-trick role. You’ll learn and support a full lineup of CNC equipment — sheet lasers, tube lasers, press brakes, screw compressors, and the software that ties it all together.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to customer sites (50–70% of the time) to install, service, and train operators on:
- CNC fiber lasers (sheet & tube)
- CNC press brakes
- Industrial screw compressors
- Perform troubleshooting, electrical/mechanical repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Provide clear, patient phone support for customers when not traveling.
- Document service calls, training sessions, and machine issues.
- Collaborate with our Tennessee HQ team to improve training materials and service guides.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting background (industrial maintenance, CNC service, field mechanic, or similar).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and work safely around high-voltage equipment.
- Solid communication skills — you can explain tech to shop guys without jargon.
- Willingness to travel nationwide (air road).
- Comfortable learning multiple machine types and software platforms.
- Bonus points for experience with CNC machinery, fiber lasers, or industrial automation.
