Duties
- Skillfully complete cakes with icing, trims, and other embellishments to create visually appealing designs.
- Prepare cakes for finishing by applying crumb coats and smooth icing layers.
- Package finished cakes carefully to ensure safe transport and presentation.
- Assist in cake and cupcake production tasks such as mixing, baking, and assembling cake components.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Handle products with proper hygiene practices, including glove use and sanitation procedures.
- Support the team during catering events or special orders by preparing and decorating cakes as needed based on skill set.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or related food industry roles.
- Strong skills in food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen sanitation.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods.
- Excellent attention to detail with an eye for design and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy bakery or kitchen environment.
- Customer service experience is a plus, especially when interacting with clients or guests.
- Previous commercial bakery, restaurant or catering experience is beneficial but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
