Responsibilities
- Implement behavioral therapy interventions grounded in applied behavior analysis (ABA) to support clients with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Conduct detailed diagnostic evaluations and patient assessments to identify behavioral strengths and areas for growth.
- Collect, analyze, and document data meticulously to monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with each client’s unique needs, goals, and medical history.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency in care delivery.
- Maintain accurate medical records, documentation of patient care, intake forms, and progress reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient care that emphasizes compassion, patience, and understanding while adhering to best practices in special education and behavioral health.
- Participate in ongoing training related to medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and current trends in applied behavior analysis.
- Support the coordination of services during intake processes and facilitate smooth transitions into treatment programs.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal standards related to medical documentation and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, special education, social work or a related field; advanced certification or licensure preferred.
- Proven experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and data collection methods.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, patient assessment procedures, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, team members, and external providers.
- Ability to perform detailed data collection and analyze behavioral trends effectively.
- Compassionate approach to patient care combined with a proactive attitude toward treatment planning.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment focused on behavioral health or special education services is highly desirable.
