Majors Plastics is looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of our HR function and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This role oversees employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits, compliance, leadership development, compensation, performance management, and organizational initiatives across multiple locations.
We're looking for someone who is hands-on, approachable, and confident leading both day-to-day HR operations and long-term strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and developing leaders while helping drive the business forward.
Essential Job Functions
- Listens objectively to employee concerns and serves as employee advocate.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and assures training of new staff in the HR department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Supports management team with employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations recruiting and retention goals and strategies.
- Oversees the administration of human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, morale, training, and development.
- Works with Recruitment – Employee Development Manager to develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Ensures the organization complies employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Monitors current HR trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies; applies this knowledge to introduce changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Sources and coordinates developmental training opportunities for supervisors.
- Ensures job descriptions and employee handbooks are relevant and current.
- Responds to legal charges, federal and state agency inquiries.
- Supports Employee Relations Manager and Safety Director with Worker’s Compensation claims and Return to Work programs.
- Disseminates corporate communications to all employees.

Qualifications:Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
1. Bachelor's Degree required.
2. Five (5) years of progressive responsibility as a Human Resources Generalist required.
3. Knowledge of current federal and state laws regarding employment and safety.
4. Employee relations experience essential as well as good written and verbal communication skills.
5. Presentation skills a must.
6. Hands-on experience with OSHA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910 required.
7. Above-average computer skills a must.
8. Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Professional Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
10. Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, trust, and integrity.
11. Self-motivated and Team-oriented.
