What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX Writer and Localization Lead position at MAJORITY?
UX Writer & Localization Lead
Miami, FL
About Us:
MAJORITY is a groundbreaking mobile banking service built for migrants, by migrants. Global migration is a 21st-century reality, whether people are following their dreams, love, or new experiences. Our purpose at MAJORITY is to empower the ambitious, the brave, and the talented and help them achieve their dreams. We believe that everyone deserves the same opportunity to succeed. Our mission is to provide migrants the tools they need to thrive in their new country. We're a team of people without borders, from over 20 countries, driven by ambition and a shared passion for making a difference.
This role is based out of our Wynwood office in Miami, FL and reports to the head of our Product Design team.
We're looking for a UX writer & Localization Lead to join our Product Design team and architect the voice of financial access!
The Role:
We're looking for a strategic content leader who approaches UX writing holistically. As our UX writer & Localization Lead, you'll shape how our users experience financial services through language. This role will have full ownership over our content strategy, voice, and helping design and refine our localization processes.
You'll think in systems, not sentences. Every piece of copy you create will work across multiple languages and markets. You'll build scalable content processes, optimize our translation workflows, and establish the frameworks that ensure consistency as we grow. You'll bridge the gap between complex financial concepts and clear, trustworthy user experiences.
You’ll dive into user research, understand the immigrant financial journey, and create copy that solves real problems. You'll use AI as a tool to scale your work while maintaining the human connection our users need.
What You’ll Own:
Define our content strategy: Shape MAJORITY's voice and content standards across all product touchpoints. Create the frameworks and style guides that ensure our messaging is consistent, clear, and culturally relevant as we scale.
Create essential in-app copy: Own the user-facing content that guides our users through critical financial moments, onboarding flows, transaction messages, error states, and feature explanations. Your work will turn complex financial processes into clear, confidence-building experiences.
Optimize our localization process: Take our current Crowdin-to-Figma workflow and build it into an efficient, scalable system. Manage translations across LATAM markets while leveraging AI to improve quality and speed without losing cultural nuance.
Drive cross-team content decisions: Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure content strategy influences product direction. You'll be the advocate who ensures user needs shape how we build features.
Champion our user community: Conduct content-focused user research and testing to ensure our language resonates with the LATAM diaspora. Translate insights about the immigrant financial experience into copy that builds trust and drives action.
What You Bring:
- 5 years of proven UX writing experience with a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to simplify complexity, especially in consumer mobile apps that handle sensitive user needs.
- Financial systems knowledge: You understand the US banking landscape and can translate regulatory complexity into human language. Fintech experience is highly valuable.
- Localization expertise: You've managed LMS platforms (Crowdin, Phrase, or similar) and have experience improving translation workflows.
- Systems thinking: You've built content style guides, frameworks, and scalable processes. You approach content strategically beyond individual projects.
- Cultural understanding: You deeply understand the LATAM diaspora experience and can write authentically for people navigating life between two worlds. Native-level Spanish fluency is highly preferred.
- Startup adaptability: you thrive in fast-moving environments where you'll wear multiple hats, own ambiguous problems, and build solutions from scratch.
- Cross-functional collaboration: You've successfully worked with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ship content that drives real business outcomes.
