Executive Producer

Majority Democrats is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Executive Producer to help build and run the systems that power our political media ecosystem. This role will oversee high-volume content pipelines primarily on YouTube but repurposed across multiple platforms and accounts, translating big-picture strategy into clear, executable plans for editors, producers, and the social / rapid response team. This role is the editorial spine of the project. You will shape the voice, formats, pacing, and daily output of the brand. You will have real authority and creative control over what ships.

Key Responsibilities

• Own daily editorial output, set the agenda each day for what we cover, how we cover it, and what we ignore
• Serve as showrunner across formats, oversee recurring short-form and long-form series, maintain consistency in tone, pacing, and point of view across platforms
• Manage an editor and give direct feedback and approval on content, establish templates, pacing standards, and visual language, oversee additional editors as volume scales
• Work closely with on-camera talent to sharpen delivery, timing, and instincts, give clear, direct feedback that improves on-camera performance quickly, help talent develop repeatable beats and formats that feel natural, not scripted
• Break and react to moments in real time, identify cultural and political moments worth jumping on, execute fast-turn content with minimal friction and balance speed with taste and urgency without sloppiness
• Package content specifically for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, understand hooks, retention curves, thumbnails, captions, and posting cadence, and iterate based on performance, not vibes
• Build scalable systems, create workflows that allow the brand to move quickly without burning out, maintain a high bar while shipping frequently

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fast-paced digital media and background in sports media, tabloid/news entertainment, or culture-first outlets (e.g., TMZ, ESPN digital, Barstool, Complex, Bleacher Report)
• Comfortable working in environments where speed matters and mistakes are corrected, not feared
• Strong editing background and deep experience editing video content for YouTube - while you won’t be responsible for cutting shows and posts exclusively by yourself, having excellent instincts for pacing, story structure, and visual clarity is a must
• Ability to edit under tight timelines and imperfect conditions
• Editorial judgement under pressure and an understanding of what’s culturally and politically defensible without defaulting to caution 
• Experience working directly with talent and shaping on-camera personalities 
• Deep platform fluency, particularly for YouTube, but Tik Tok and Instagram a plus 
• A fluent and intuitive understanding of cultural shifts, trends, and audience behavior 
• High tolerance for risk and iteration, with an understanding that misses are part of building a breakout brand 
• Strong communication skills: we are looking for someone who is direct, clear, and a decisive communicator who can lead a small team without bureaucracy
