JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Day Surgery/PACU Registered Nurse, the PAT Registered Nurse performs primary functions of the Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of preadmission infants, pediatric, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients which includes, but not limited to information gathering, screening for severity of illness and intensity of services for admission, discharge planning, incorporating high risk indicators, scheduling of pre-op testing, lab, x-rays and anesthesia clearance, pre-op patient education, videos and publications. Responsible for developing and promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with physicians and interdepartmental personnel as they relate to the care of the preadmission testing patient. Is responsible for managing supplies and equipment in the department as well as making sure charts are readied for the next day.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
