Overview
Major Equipment & Remediation is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality work.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related systems
- Working knowledge of air compressors and pump systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
- Experience inspecting, checking in, and servicing rental or field-returned equipment, with the ability to identify and complete necessary repairs efficiently
- Ability to keep a clean and organized work area
- Ability to read and write
- Physically capable of lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs
- Comfortable working in noisy environments, around flammables, and in varying weather conditions
- Familiarity with personal protective equipment and general shop safety procedures
