Job Description:
As a Gate Attendant, our job is to make sure the guests are leaving with the correct lumber/building materials.
Upon entering the lumberyard the guest will give you their picking ticket, we scan the picking ticket in, direct them into the location to pick up their product. When they leave they will check back out with you. We scan the ticket out and count their product when they leave just to make sure they have everything.
Lumber knowledge is helpful!
Must have a valid drivers license and your own vehicle!
Building material knowledge is helpful. (example- understands what a 2x4 board is, drywall, plywood, insulation, how to read a tape measure etc.)

Position Summary:
The Gatehouse Attendant plays a key customer-focused role by welcoming guests as they enter and exit the yard, assisting with order verification, and ensuring a smooth, positive experience for every customer. This position focuses on accuracy, friendliness, and customer support rather than traditional security duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner as they enter/exit the yard
- Verify customer orders and receipts to ensure accuracy
- Assist customers with questions related to pickups and exits
- Communicate clearly with yard , sales, and management teams
- help maintain an organized and efficient gatehouse area
- Promote a positive and helpful store environment
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to remain courteous and professional at all times
- Comfortable interacting with customers throughout the day
- Previous customer service or retail experience preferred
- Previous security or loss prevention experience preferred
- Must be 21 years of age
- Be able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Drug Free and pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times
- Reliable transportation
- A phone where you can be reached
