Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living space through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Support residents with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia by implementing specialized techniques
- Use assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance - Document care activities accurately, including medication administration, patient observations, and care plan updates
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and infection control procedures to safeguard residents’ health
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred
- Hands-on experience with patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and medication administration required
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care techniques, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism highly desirable
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality in healthcare settings essential
- Experience with long-term care planning, creating or following care plans necessary for effective support
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or equipment handling
- Strong observational skills for patient safety and well-being; experience in patient observation is a plus
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred; ongoing training opportunities available for skill enhancement
