Maison La Belle Vie is a luxury, vineyard-driven winery and eatery where warm hospitality meets elevated food and serious wine. We’re hiring a Seasonal Server Wine Specialist who loves creating unforgettable guest moments—through polished service, confident wine guidance, and an instinct for detail.
Compensation
- Starting pay: $15.16 - $20/ hour tip pool
- Average with tips: $25–$40/hour (based on shift volume, seasonality, and performance)
The Role
This position blends high-end table service with wine education and sales. You’ll guide guests through our wines, pairings, and culinary offerings while delivering a seamless, luxury experience from greeting to farewell.
What You’ll Do
Service Excellence
- Deliver refined, attentive service that feels natural—never scripted, never rushed
- Anticipate guest needs, handle requests with grace, and recover service issues professionally
- Maintain impeccable table presence: pacing, clearing, reset, and silent efficiency
Wine Specialist Responsibilities
- Confidently present Maison La Belle Vie wines, tasting notes, and pairing suggestions
- Lead guests through flights and by-the-glass selections with a “story style” approach
- Support bottle and club sales through genuine, elevated recommendations
Food Pairing Knowledge
- Understand menu ingredients, allergens, and dietary accommodations
- Recommend pairings for seasonal dishes and chef features
- Coordinate with BOH to ensure accuracy, timing, and beautiful execution
Luxury Standards Team Culture
- Uphold brand standards: polished appearance, calm communication, and strong etiquette
- Execute opening/closing side work, restocking, polishing glassware, and station organization
- Work as one team—server, bar, kitchen, host—so the guest experience stays effortless
What We’re Looking For
- 1 year serving experience preferred (upscale dining, tasting room, or wine-forward service is a plus)
- Strong communication skills and comfort speaking about wine at the table
- Detail-driven, dependable, and coachable
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods, carry trays, and thrive in busy services with composure
Bonus Points (Not Required)
- Wine certification (WSET, CMS, SWE) or an active wine-education track
- Experience with winery hospitality, pairing dinners, or curated tasting experiences
- Comfort with POS systems, flights, bottle service, and hospitality-driven retail sales
