Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Food Server to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional dining experiences. This role involves taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment, whether in fine dining, casual restaurant, or nightclub settings. Prior experience with POS systems and food handling is preferred to ensure smooth operations and compliance with food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive guest services to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items to maximize sales opportunities
- Manage cash handling and process payments efficiently and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tables, service stations, and dining areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Assist with bussing tables, setting up dining areas, and supporting kitchen staff when needed
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, including specials and wine pairings
- Handle guest inquiries professionally and resolve any issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction
- Follow all sanitation procedures during food handling and service to ensure health standards are met
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
- Ability to manage time efficiently during busy shifts
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
- Basic math skills for cash handling and billing accuracy
- Experience with upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed in a fast-paced environment
- Prior host/host or serving experience is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential
