Mechanical Engineer – Engine & Axle Assembly
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide direct line and maintenance engineering support for Engine and Axle Assembly operations. This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role combining daily production support, equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, tooling, and project-based engineering work.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide Mechanical Engineering support for Engine Assembly and Axle Assembly processes.
- Troubleshoot tooling and equipment breakdowns to support daily production.
- Review station-level drawings and BOMs and develop recommended spare-parts lists.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures for existing and future equipment.
- Develop and implement tooling and assembly methods for product changes.
- Support equipment certification, including gages, torque guns, and leak testers.
- Work with purchasing and vendors to procure equipment.
- Provide technical coaching to assemblers, supervisors, and skilled trades.
- Support complex manufacturing and production problems on the plant floor.
- Participate in weekend production coverage rotation.
Core Focus: Approximately 70% daily line support and 30% project work.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology; 8 years of applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in an assembly environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and methods of manufacture.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- At least 1 year of project management or supervisory experience preferred.
- AutoCAD LT experience preferred.
- Familiarity with pressing operations, including Kistler and Promess hardware, preferred.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting torque tooling preferred.
- Strong communication and ability to work directly with production teams, skilled trades, supervisors, vendors, and engineering teams.
