The HVAC Tech is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school/office environment, overseen by the Maintenance Director, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.
All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

Primary Function: Perform assigned tasks (preventive or corrective) necessary to maintain all HVAC, heating equipment, special equipment, refrigeration equipment, or kitchen equipment in peak operating condition. Must be able to troubleshoot and make total repairs on select equipment. |

Qualifications:
|
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED |
|
Must possess a valid driver's license, have dependable transportation, and have a good driving record |
|
HVAC Technical School diploma preferred |
|
Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as an HVAC Mechanic with extensive experience in commercial AC, freezers, and three-phase electric |
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:

Inspect assigned facilities and equipment for safe and efficient operation |
|
Perform assigned tasks (preventive or corrective) necessary to maintain all HVAC, heating equipment, special equipment, refrigeration equipment, or kitchen equipment in peak operating condition |
|
Communicate problems/concerns with equipment to appropriate manager/supervisor |
|
Make recommendations which will improve job performance and/or equipment reliability as appropriate |
|
Work without constant supervision |
|
Complete all assigned work orders including special project work |
|
Maintain all tools and equipment used in performance of job responsibilities |
|
Maintain clean work site |
|
Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, obtaining proper signatures from the issuing administrator |
|
Estimate time, material and supply needs to complete assigned jobs |
|
Assist in ordering materials as directed |
|
Report immediately safety hazards which affect the welfare of students and district employees |
|
Other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee |
