Job Summary:
The Electrician is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school, warehouse, and construction environment, overseen by the Maintenance Director, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.
All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

Primary Function: Working knowledge of the current NEC electrical code. |

Qualifications:
|
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED |
|
Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a Master Electrician working with voltages ranging from 120V and 480V - 3 phase up to 3000 amps |
|
State of Georgia Class II Electrical License |
|
Must possess a valid driver's license, have dependable transportation, and have a good driving record |
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:

Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain all electrical systems, circuits, and equipment throughout the school district |
|
Follow safe wiring practices |
|
Troubleshoot electrical problems and repair in appropriate time frame |
|
Remain updated on code changes |
|
Inspect assigned facilities and equipment for safe and efficient operation |
|
Perform preventive maintenance on building components, equipment, devices, circuits, etc. |
|
Communicate problems/concerns with equipment to appropriate manager/supervisor |
|
Make recommendations which will improve job performance and/or equipment reliability as appropriate |
|
Work with little or no direct supervision |
|
Complete all assigned work orders including special project work |
|
Maintain all tools and equipment used in performance of job responsibilities |
|
Maintain clean work site |
|
Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, obtaining proper signatures from the issuing administrator |
|
Estimate time, material and supply needs to complete assigned jobs |
|
Order materials as directed, maintain materials inventory |
|
Maintain routine records related to assigned activities |
|
Report immediately safety hazards which affect the welfare of students and district employees |
|
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee |
