JOB TITLE: GROUNDS

JOB DESCRIPTION NARRATIVE:

Landscape and maintain district grounds utilizing a variety of vehicles, machinery, equipment and tools.  Adhere to necessary safety precaution.  Maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keep the District’s facilities in effective operating conditions, promote efficiency, and ensure an environment conducive to the quality educational programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge: High School Diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, ability to read basic instructions and safety documents.

Skills: Operate basic equipment and tools, ability to perform routine tasks without close supervision; ability to work with people, ability to assess the job and complete satisfactorily. 

Machines/Equipment: Vans, Cars/trucks, tractors, back-hoe, forklift, mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, welder, cutting torch, other related machines/equipment.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

Primary                                                                                                         

1. Landscaping
2. Ground Maintenance and upkeep
3. Delivery Services
4. Maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and tools

Secondary

1. Custodial duties, as needed
2. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

NOTE:  For the following requirements in terms of an 8 hour workday,                                                        

"Occasional" = 1-33%, "Frequent" = 34-66%, "Continuous" = 67-100%.
