POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Head Custodian is responsible for building service functions for schools; instructs building custodial staff in prescribed cleaning methods and equipment operation, and maintains continuous review of building facilities, grounds and equipment operations. Responsibility for overseeing and approving building service supply and equipment expenditures. The employee consults with the school principal and/or facilities supervisor with regard to building functions and operations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)

• Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described within this job description
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Experience as a Custodian in a K-12 Environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bilingual Spanish

COMPENSATION

• Wage Schedule: $24.18 - $30.59 per hour 
• Work days: 260 (12 month position)
• Medical, dental and vision insurance
• Life insurance, AD&D, Long term disability included (Optional insurances available)
• Vacation, Personal days and Sick days
• JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
