ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
  2. Responsible for routine maintenance of electrical systems for district facilities.
  3. Responsible for all repairs to electrical systems as needed.
  4. Responsible for inventory of all equipment and supplies needed for maintenance and repair of these systems.
  5. Inspects district systems on a regular basis to ensure systems are functioning properly.
  6. Reports any damage or other maintenance issues to supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Five years of electrical experience preferred.
  2. Journeyman’s License with Electrician license or equivalent experience preferred.
  3. Knowledge of electrical codes.
  4. Proficient in blueprints and schematics.
  5. Proficient with electric water heaters, boilers, and recirculation systems.
  6. Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  7. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  8. Position requires physical demands like lifting and standing.
  9.  A valid driver's license and/or a CDL, if driving is required as part of your position description.  The District shall be entitled to review your driving record periodically with the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles;

  10. No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.
  11. Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to perform the following duties:

  1. Frequent communication with parents, students, and staff including the exchange of accurate information.
  2. Moving about on foot with minimal rest.
  3. Occasionally remain in a seated position or remain on one’s feet in an upright position at a location without moving about.
  4. Raising or lowering objects from one level to another from 25 – 75 lbs.
  5. Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force or towards the force.
  6. Frequently required to position body to perform maintenance duties by bending body downward and forward at the waist often requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles, bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
  7. Occasionally ascending or descending ladders and stairs using feet and legs or hands and arms.
  8. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  9. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching on narrow slippery surfaces.
  10. Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
  11. Clarity of vision at various ranges up to 20 feet including observing an area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
  12. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are.
  13. Exposure to the following environmental conditions including weather, moving mechanical parts, electric shock, vibration, extreme heat, noise, and toxic chemicals.

 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  Full-Time Position - 12 months, Monday - Friday 8 hours a day.

 

SALARY CLASSIFICATION:  Appropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated by Site Administrator and according to District Policy.

 

TOTAL PAID HOLIDAYS: 21
