Floating Medical Assistant – North Georgia
MainStreet Family Care is growing and we're looking to hire a fast, fun and friendly Floating Medical Assistant to work in multiple clinics in East Ellijay, Jasper and Cumming cities! Our Medical Assistants provide a great service to our patients, providing them with excellent care. Services provided to the public include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal applicant will be able to assist the onsite provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge. Flexibility is a must!
We are currently hiring for both permanent and seasonal positions. Seasonal positions are non-benefited, and the exact length of employment is based on the needs of the business, but can be expected to last through March 2026.

Responsibilities:
- Clinical
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
- Take patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare patient for examination and treatment
- Dispense medication as directed
- Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable
- Provide solutions to patient concerns within the scope of position
- Clerical
- Provide accurate and timely documentation to staff, insurance carriers and companies
- Correspondence by phone, in person, or in writing regarding patient care, i.e. insurance carriers, physicians, non-clinic physicians
- Maintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physicians’ review, etc.
- Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments
- Complete opening and closing procedures
- Other Duties
- Maintain disposable and non-disposable supplies, i.e. wound care supplies, laundry, etc.
- Annual training as needed
- Help produce and maintain patient education instruction hand-outs
- Maintain clean, professional working/treatment area
- Accept and assume responsibility for special projects as they arise
- All other duties as assigned
- Clinic staff will be split into two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Each shift will work on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend, sample below:
- MainStreet Clinic Hours
- Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- KidsStreet Clinic Hours (Montgomery, Pelham, Mobile only)
- Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Floating Medical Assistants are guaranteed 30 hours per work week, but flexibility for the schedule is a must!
Qualifications:
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Prior Medical Assisting experience or education is beneficial, but not required
- Position begins at $14/hr.
