The role of Senior Accounting and Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports and data to support management decision-making and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves significant data handling, financial reporting, and a small portion of compliance activities.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and distribute timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Assist and support in the preparation and processing of annual financial statements and reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary financial information for comprehensive reporting.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data in reports by conducting regular reconciliations and validations.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets to support financial reporting and decision-making.
- Implement and maintain financial data systems to streamline reporting processes.
- Ensure data quality and consistency by conducting regular audits and reviews.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Responsible for booking entries to the general ledger and conducting reconciliations.
- Identify various trends and key findings and report those to the Controller.
- Review and analyze spend to budget.
- Ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations.
- Assess departmental spends and trends and understand why and what is the cause.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in financial reporting, analysis, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, data analysis tools).
- Ability to move into a leadership role.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of SQL or other data querying languages.
