What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer position at Mainstream Engineering?
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will:
- Work with engineers on new product development teams
- Develop and revise 3D CAD models (including parts and complex assemblies) for prototype and production applications
- Prepare and revise technical drawings for all different types of components (machined, sheet metal, plastic / composite, tubing) and assemblies
- Create, perform, and review engineering change orders (ECOs)
- Prepare and update BOMs
- Prepare product specification sheets
- Prepare quality assurance documents
- Create and maintain drawing and model library in Autodesk Inventor and Vault
- Create and maintain Mainstream Engineering modeling and drawing standards
Position Requirements
- BS in an engineering discipline
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in product related mechanical design and drafting
- United States citizen required due to ITAR restrictions
- Understanding of Engineering/Mechanical principles
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (ASME Y14.5-2009)
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 2024 or newer
- Proficiency with Autodesk Vault 2024 or newer (preferred)
