Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and facilities infrastructure using schematics, hand tools, and specialized testing devices such as ohmmeters.
• Conduct welding, carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and maintenance painting tasks to uphold the hotel’s interior aesthetics.
• Operate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for automation systems and utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and inventory.
• Supervise or assist with facilities equipment maintenance projects while ensuring safety standards are met; lead or support team members in repair tasks as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, schematics, and maintenance activities; ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests or staff, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance within hospitality or manufacturing environments; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on skills in plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, HVAC system repair, welding, and building interior maintenance.
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical equipment repair, HVAC systems including troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Proficiency with hand tools, electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters, and familiarity with CMMS software for work order management.
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures involving plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as facilities equipment upkeep.
• Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams; experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to collaborate effectively with team members and provide outstanding customer service.
• Relevant certifications in electrical work or HVAC are preferred; experience with manufacturing or residential building maintenance is beneficial.
