Required Qualifications
Minimum requirements include the following:
v High school diploma or equivalent.
v Licensed in accordance with applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
v Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician with a Skilled Nursing Facility, or Long-Term Care Facility preferred.
v A working understanding electrical systems, HVAC systems, and various mechanical and architectural systems.
v Valid driver’s license.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
v The Facility Maintenance Technician works closely with the facility leadership team to assist with day-to-day maintenance and custodial work of the facility.
v The position requires a highly organized, conscientious, reliable professional who will be discreet with sensitive information and has adherence to deadlines and attention to detail.
v Install, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical equipment as needed.
v Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
v Maintaining the condition of all mechanical systems.
v Working closely with outside contractors and vendors.
v Performing troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical systems.
v Handling emergency service calls after business hours on an on-call rotation.
v Perform mechanical maintenance and building maintenance as required, using hand tools, motorized lifts, and machine tools.
v Makes rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals; inspects doors, windows, and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened.
v Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services.
v Cleans grounds and parking lots of litter, glass, snow, or other debris.
v Loads and unloads supplies, and moves heavy furniture and equipment using dollies, handcarts, or power equipment.
v Replaces light bulbs and fuses.
v Other duties as needed/required to meet goals.
v Work effectively with minimal supervision.

v Always follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures to protect residents and themselves.
v Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
v Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer.
v Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor/Administrator/Abuse Coordinator. Protects residents from abuse, and cooperates with all investigations.
v Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.
v Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility’s emergency plan.
v Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
v Follows established infection control policies and procedures.
v As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.

v Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
v May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day; encounter reactions from dust, tobacco smoke, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
v Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases and/or conditions which include AIDS, Coronavirus, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis.
v May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors, or personnel.
