Required Qualifications
v High school diploma or GED diploma (preferred not required)
v Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
v Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and perform basic math computations as needed.
v Previous long term care experience preferred.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Carries out all cleaning duties as directed by the Environmental Services Director according to required department policies and procedures.
Ensures that daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to.
Maintains a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
Ensures that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition. Reports any defect to the department director.
Practices sensitivity to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
Adheres to infection control policies at all times.
Adheres to correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Ensures all necessary documentation is completed daily.
Carries out other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Director.
Essential Functions
v Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust-mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.
v Operates environmental services equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor cleaners, buffers, shampooers, etc.).
v Wet-mops rooms, halls and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.
v Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
v Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
v Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
v Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and separate those items that require special stain removal/treatment.
v Sort, count and wash soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
v Fold, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, garments, etc., to residents daily and/or as instructed.
v During emergency conditions, assure that clean laundry, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
v Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
v Ensure that clean liner is completely covered at all time
v Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, door frames and other high surfaces.
v Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags and containers.
v Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
v Performs terminal cleaning procedures of resident rooms and prepares rooms for new admissions; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
v Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms.
v Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks in carts for distribution. Takes supply requests and delivers them.
v Delivers linen to departments according to pre-established par levels and schedules.
v Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment and assists with other cleaning duties as assigned.

v Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer.
v Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator. Protects residents from abuse, and cooperates with all investigations.
v Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.
v Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facilitys emergency plan.
v Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
v Follows established infection control policies and procedures.
v As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.
