DESCRIPTION:
Offsite Support Professionals play an important role in fulfilling the mission of Mainstay; to provide life-long, high-quality support services, ensuring that people with intellectual disabilities and autism lead fulfilling lives. Remote Support Professionals directly support people remotely with every day needs including achievement of personal health & wellness goals, safety in and out of their home, and engagement in their communities to promote socially valued roles and independence, and exploration of their unique skills and gifts so they achieve the good things in life.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consistent remote support and monitoring functions
- Monitors individuals and provides support in areas identified in each individualized support plan
- Empowers individuals to make independent decisions, and provides emergency backup as needed
- Responds to emergency requests from individuals served, and as needed escalates to dispatching of backup in-person staffing
- Notifies and coordinates with emergency services when required
- Troubleshoots technology issues with remote support systems in the homes
- Provides ongoing training with technology to individuals to engage them to utilize in-home devices
- Monitors wearable devices when individuals are away from home, and provides assistance and interventions as needed
- Provides in-service training and consultation to individuals served and parents on technology, including use of remote support systems
- Provides remote support to individuals remotely throughout the region
Providing Supports, Interventions & Services to Individuals remotely:
- Supporting individuals with typical daily activities
- Supporting Effective Communication
- Assessing needs for needed interventions and supports
- Providing crisis prevention and intervention services
Maintaining Health & Safety of the Individuals:
- Supporting overall health and wellness for individuals (such as daily exercise, healthy eating, actively engaging with life around them or life in their neighborhood or community, etc.)
- Remotely supporting medication administration in accordance with all Federal, State, and local regulations and all Mainstay policies and procedures.
- Demonstrating the principles and values that produce fair and honest behavior; stepping forward and taking a stand for what is right when made aware of unethical actions or conduct below standards; consistently complying with all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations, policies, and procedures, and reporting any concerns about compliance or business practices.
- Completing all required annual training including compliance and integrity training.
Engaging Individuals in Socially Valued Roles
- Supporting individuals in building a network of community supports/inclusion
- Advocating for individuals; for maximum independence and community inclusion
- Empowering Individuals to make their own choices
- Offering Education, training, and self-development for individuals in accordance with the ISP
- Building and maintaining relationships with important people in the individual's life (family, friends, supporters)
- Offering individuals both emotional and virtual supports for maximum independence & community inclusion
- Supporting the individual to engage/participate in community and organizational activities.
Documentation & Administrative Requirements
- Maintaining the content, integrity, and security of all documentation, whether in paper or electronic format, that comprises the health and care record(s) of service and supports delivered. All documentation must include person-centered and trauma-informed language.
- Demonstrating proficiency in the use of technology in documentation (including but not limited to electronic client records software, Microsoft Office, email, payroll, time keeping, etc.). Accurately and thoroughly completes and submits timely, all required documentation in accordance with organization, program, and payer specific, policies, practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- responsibility to undergo on-the-job training in using the remote technology to become competent is using this technology, and responsibility to undergo training on an ongoing basis to refresh skills and stay current with latest tech developments
- responsibility to obtain Shift credentialing at an ETC (Enabling Technology certification) level or higher as a requirement - within 6 months of starting
- Undergo on the job training and continued learning to become and remain proficient using remote monitoring technologies.
OPERATIONS AND COMPLIANCE:
- Ensures compliance with all laws, safety rules, and LADD policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify, prevent, and report situations of abuse, exploitation, neglect, and other adverse events.
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation of services.
- Participates in and attends various meetings and trainings as required.
MICELLANEOUS:
- Responsible for the completion of other duties as assigned by the Program Manager, Associate Coordinator, and Program Coordinator.

HOURS:
16 hours per week - 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Saturdays and Sundays. Schedule encompasses varying days and hours including periodic observation of all shifts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Vision Acuity for the Position: Vision is Essential Vision is Non-Essential
- Environmental Conditions: 90% Inside – 10% Outside
- Workers may be Exposed to: Cold Heat Dust Mist Odors
- Physical Requirements for the Position: ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds regularly, ability to respond quickly to sounds, ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, ability to see and respond to dangerous situations, ability to work in extreme weather, ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age
- 2 years’ experience/education in developmental disabilities preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Eligibility for Act 33/34 clearances
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Pre-employment drug screen required
