What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Living Specialist - Residential Substitute position at Mainstay Life Services?
The Community Living Specialist is responsible for the general growth, development and well-being of the people residing in community housing provided by Mainstay Life Services. This position will assist with community activities, daily living skills, and increase/maintain individual’s ability to live independently.
This position offers flexible scheduling starting at $15/hour

As a Community Living Specialist/DSP you are responsible for the general growth, development and well-being of the individuals residing in community housing provided by Mainstay Life Services. Specifically, the duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Care for those served with dignity and respect while providing them an opportunity to exercise choice
- Integrate those served within the community; organize and implement activities within person’s home and/or community
- Provide a safe, clean, comfortable and therapeutic living environment for those served
- Encourage, guide, and train those served to develop competencies, including daily living skills, social skills and interpersonal skills
- Administer medications and other health care services as prescribed by person’s health providers. This may include administering oral, topical and/or injected medications.
- Adhere to documentation and reporting requirements
- Assess and evaluate behaviors and skills of those served and complete written assessments
- Develop and implement goal plans as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Actively participate in scheduled staff meetings, training seminars, and supervisory sessions
- Participate productively and cooperatively on the staff team, with person’s family members, the community, and vocational and educational providers.

Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age
- Eligibility for Act 33/34 clearances
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to lift and transfer, climb, reach, stand, and walk distances
