Community-Based Direct Support Professional — Paid Training!
Location: Carrick, Mt. Oliver, Dormont, Castle Shannon areas
Shifts: Full-Time (37.5–40 hrs/week); Sunday - Thursday (hours vary)
Help people with intellectual disabilities and autism stay active, independent, and involved in their communities!
Through our Community Participation Supports (CPS)/Community Services program, Mainstay empowers people to explore new opportunities, build their skills, and get involved in activities they enjoy. We focus on active and valued participation that reflects each person’s interests, strengths, and goals - helping them grow confidence, independence, and community connections.
What You’ll Do
- Transport individuals to community activities, work, and appointments
- Support hobbies, social activities, and confidence-building experiences
- Encourage independence and teach everyday life skills
- Promote safety, communication, and personal choice
- Complete simple documentation
Fun Activities You May Support
- Going to the gym or local parks
- Attending concerts, festivals, or sports games
- Volunteering at community organizations
- Cooking, crafting, or learning new hobbies
- Shopping trips, library visits, or coffee outings
- Exploring museums, classes, or job skills opportunities

What You Need
- A positive attitude and passion for helping others succeed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist in different environments
- Reliable transportation and professionalism
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Eligibility for Act 33/34 clearances.
- Pre-employment drug screen required.
- High School Diploma/GED
