The Loss Prevention Officer ensures the safety and security of the property, associates, and guests by patrolling, monitoring, and enforcing property policies and procedures. What You Have
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Strong observational and analytical skills.
- Ability to remain calm and handle high-pressure situations effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using surveillance equipment and basic computer systems.
- Security or Loss Prevention certification is a plus.
- Patrol the property regularly to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Monitor surveillance systems and investigate suspicious activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security policies.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, including emergencies such as fire, medical situations, or evacuations.
- Prevent loss of property by monitoring entry and exit points, employee areas, and storage facilities.
- Investigate reports of theft or loss and gather evidence for internal and external reporting.
- Liaise with law enforcement or third-party investigators when required
- Respond to guest or associate complaints about security-related matters professionally and effectively.
- Document incidents thoroughly using incident reports, ensuring timely submission to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure issues are resolved and preventive measures are in place.
- Conduct regular safety drills, including fire and emergency evacuation drills.
- Promote a culture of safety and security through awareness campaigns and ongoing communication.
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence to deter inappropriate behavior.
- Assist guests and associates with lockouts, escort requests, or other security-related needs.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Support the Food & Beverage and Rooms Division Departments with overnight cleanliness.
