Role Description
MainGate Management is seeking a Portfolio Manager to own and grow an assigned portfolio of residential and commercial properties. This is a cornerstone role for self-motivated professionals who thrive with autonomy and want to directly shape building performance, owner relationships, and resident experience.
Responsibilities
- Set rents, develop leasing plans, and approve all tenant applications and renewals
- Manage capital projects and unit turns from scoping through completion
- Advise building owners on property improvement strategies and revenue growth
- Lead your team in delivering excellent resident experiences and maintaining building quality
Qualifications
- Experience in property management handling leasing, maintenance coordination, or portfolio oversight before and can hit the ground running
- Comfort with property management accounting. Experience with owner statements, CAM reconciliations, rent rolls, or similar is a real plus
- A self-starter mindset — you manage your own time, prioritize without being told, and don't need hand-holding to get things done
- Strong communicator across all stakeholders. You can talk through a maintenance issue with a vendor, a lease renewal with a tenant, and a capital budget with an owner, all in the same day
- A genuine team player. We're a collaborative group and want someone who enjoys working alongside colleagues
