Job Description
What You'll Do
- Reconcile patient lists, census data, and discharge reports to confirm complete and accurate documentation
- Follow up with providers or administrators about missing or incomplete information
- Enter CPT and ICD-10 codes into clinical systems based on information received
- Review basic documentation for uncomplicated visits in 1-2 outpatient departments to assign codes accurately
- Use coding guidelines to assign proper codes and modifiers as needed
- Individuals studying medical coding or completing a coding certificate program
- Candidates with experience in medical office settings, billing, or medical terminology
- Those looking to build a career in health information or coding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Certification (CCA or CPC) is a plus-but not required
- This is an on-site position at the Hathaway building in Waterville, Maine
- Remote work is not available for this role
