Registered Nurse (RN) Per diem

We are seeking per diem RNs to assist with covering weekends, holidays and time off requests for our full-time and part-time employees. $50.00 per hour starting wage!

At Maine Veterans’ Homes – Bangor, you’ll work alongside skilled professionals and paraprofessionals to provide premier care for Maine’s Veterans and their families.

The role of the RN is to supervise the activities of the direct care staff, promoting the highest quality of nursing services. The RN Charge will help ensure fulfillment of plans of care according to MVH quality standards.

Per diem Requirements:

• At least 16 hours of weekend time during each four week schedule, if work is available.
• At least a full shift on one major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day), if work is available.
• At least a full shift on one minor holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve), if work is available.

• Current unencumbered RN license to practice in the State of Maine
• Requires proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
• Basic computer skills
