Railroad Construction Laborer (No Experience Required)
Pay: $20.81/hr start $24.07 Laborer $25.40 Operator $31.06 Foreman

Who We Are
Maine Track Maintenance is a railroad construction contractor—not the railroad. We build, repair, and maintain track, switches, crossings, and industrial rail facilities throughout Maine and New England.
No Experience Required
We will train dependable, hardworking individuals (18 with a valid driver's license) who want to build a skilled trade and long-term career.
Advancement
Performance-based advancement with no set timeline. We promote operators and foremen from within, and every current foreman/operator started as a laborer. CDL advancement opportunities available.
Schedule
- Four 10-hour days (Mon–Thu)
- Friday overtime often available
- 40–50 hours/week
- Mostly Maine with occasional New England travel
- Hotels and meal allowance provided while traveling
Typical Duties
Install and repair railroad track, replace ties/rail/switches, operate hand and power tools, load materials, perform grading, cut and drill rail, and participate in daily safety briefings.
Requirements
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing, including marijuana
- Able to perform physically demanding outdoor construction in all weather
