What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health / Physical Education Teacher Multiple Schools position at Maine School Administrative District #6?
MSAD 6 is seeking a dynamic Health / Physical Education Teacher to join the instructional staff at Bonny Eagle Middle School and Buxton Center Elementary School in Buxton, Maine, for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full time position, half of that time will be at the middle school and the other half will be at Buxton Center Elementary. The position will include travelling between the two schools during the school day. Preference will be given to candidates with both endorsements: Health & PE.
The successful candidate will create a flexible instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students assigned to the classroom; motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to ensure that effective learning occurs for each child; and respond to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional programs and student progress.
Applicants for this position must have degree(s) required in major area of study; Maine Department of Education certification with a #520 and #510 endorsements; experience related to the instruction of students of similar age and in the subject area(s) to be assigned; demonstrated positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues; and evidence of a strong desire to work with school-age youth.
This position will be filled when a successful candidate has been found. Salaries and benefits may be found on the District website in the Agreement between the MSAD 6 Board of Directors and the Saco Valley Teachers Association.
