The Department of Theatre at the University of Southern Maine seeks an experienced Set Designer for their fall mainstage production of Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound.  Technical rehearsals run from October 16th - 22nd. 

The Set Designer would work 5 - 10 hours per week, which would be 80 - 100% remote with synchronous weekly production meetings. If local, the designer would be present for the tech process in the Rusell Hall Scene Shop and Theatre located on our Gorham Campus. 

Compensation is $1,800.

Required Qualifications:                

  • Experience as a theatrical scene designer. 
  • Undergraduate degree in Theatre with a focus in design.
  • MFA in scenic design is preferred but not required.
