Maine Radio has been a long leading radio and wireless communications provider based in Scarborough, Maine. Since 1995, we’ve delivered mission-critical two-way radio and wireless communications solutions to customers across Northern New England — including public safety agencies (police, fire, EMS), schools and transportation companies, retailers, construction and petrochemical operations, and special events. We sell, service, and rent equipment, and our customers count on us to keep their teams connected.
About the Role
We’re looking for a friendly, organized Customer Service Representative to be the first point of contact for our customers. You’ll answer incoming calls and emails, prepare quotes, process sales and rental orders, schedule service work, and make sure every customer interaction reflects the reliability our name is built on. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving, juggling multiple requests, and learning a technical product line (no radio experience required — we’ll train you).
What You’ll Do
- Answer incoming phone calls and emails, and greet walk-in customers
- Prepare and follow up on price quotes for equipment, accessories, and rentals
- Enter and track sales orders, rental reservations, and service tickets
- Coordinate two-way radio rentals for events, including scheduling pickups and returns
- Schedule repair and installation appointments with the service team
- Maintain accurate customer records and order documentation
- Follow up with customers on order status, back-orders, and open issues
- Support the sales and technical team with administrative tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 1 years of customer service, front-desk, retail, or administrative experience
- Strong phone and email communication skills with a professional, helpful manner
- Comfortable using computers (email, order entry, basic spreadsheets); ability to learn our systems quickly
- Experience with QuickBooks Online for data entry
- Well-organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Able to manage multiple requests and prioritize in a busy environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
Nice to have (not required):
- Experience in a technical, equipment, or B2B sales/service environment
- Familiarity with quoting, order management, or scheduling software
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, daytime business hours
- On-site at our Scarborough, ME location
